It’s party and event season, so you might be reeling from all the RSVPs and invites. The first thing that always crosses our minds: what will I wear? Whether your gathering with friends, family or coworkers, deciding what’s appropriate for the occasion is a daunting task. To help ease the holiday stress, we put together a list of four common holiday events with accessory tips. Click on the image to view the item.
1. Office Holiday Party
If you are attending an office holiday party, sometimes it can be difficult to find a middle ground between business professional and formalwear. We suggest small and simple pieces for understated accessories. Adding a dress watch and pearl earrings can take your office attire closer to formal than business. If you are unsure of the dress code for your work event, adding a diamond pendant and interesting ring can elevate your look without overstepping.
2. Family Gathering
At first, a party with your family doesn’t seem worth of wardrobe questioning. However, then you realize that you’ll want to look your best for all of your relatives or even your in-laws. You’ll want to wear something beautiful and in the holiday spirit without going overboard. We suggest a holiday-colored statement necklace with simple accessories, like a dress watch and perhaps a holiday charm bracelet.
3. A Party with Friends
If you’ve never challenged your sartorial prowess at an ugly Christmas sweater party, then now is your chance. If you are dressing for an evening in with your friends, then you have the opportunity to have fun with your accessories while also remaining casual. We suggest a stack of David Yurman bracelets to compliment the noisy sweater and a quirky, holiday Chanel brooch to take it over the top. Finally, calm down the look with a small pair of stud earrings.
4. A Formal New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Eve is one of the few times a year wear dressing extravagantly is not only acceptable, but encouraged. If you are attending a formal party, then you will definitely need to have at least one over-the-top statement piece. A diamond-encrusted necklace, bracelet or ring would be perfect. Even better — a Panthere piece from Cartier or a Serpenti piece from Bulgari.
