Style Icon Inspiration for Father’s Day
It’s crunch time. Father’s Day is approaching and if you haven’t figured out the perfect gift for Dad, then you may need some assistance. If your father is a dapper man — or even if he just wishes to be — we have the best men’s accessories no matter if your dad is classic, modern or vintage. Check out our three very different, favorite style icons that also happen to be dads.
1. The Classic
Okay, we are going to get it out of the way because it’s inevitable — James Bond. Every man looks at James Bond, no matter who the actor, and thinks he’s the most stylish man that’s ever existed. Well-fitted pinstripe suits and classic accessories are really all it takes to get this look.
Since 1995 saw the release of “Goldeneye” an Omega Seamaster has donned the wrist of James Bond, as played by Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. Over the span of 20 years and seven Bond films, the watch has remained the same. You can find one here.
If you let your eye stray from Bond’s classic timepiece, you’ll see another ever-present accessory — the cufflinks. Cufflinks are essential to a polished, professional and refined look. You can find them here.
2. The Modern
David Beckham may have gained his fame from kicking a ball, but now he’s kicking back. Well, sometimes. When not attending events and sporting a fitted suit and formal wristwatch, Beckham still likes to accessorize.
Layers of bracelets are typically found on his wrist. Sometimes he wears several beaded bands, and other times he wears a single leather strand. Men’s jewelry is on trend this season, so gift Dad a few more accessory options. You can find them here.
A Rolex has a more classic appeal, however, and Beckham doesn’t stray away from luxury timepieces either. He’s been spotted wearing a Rolex Sea-Dwellers, and he was the face of the Breitling for Bentley ad campaign. You can find it here.
3. The Vintage
The King of Cool is possibly one of the only men who could go from race car to suit and tie so effortlessly. The vintage look carries the same vibe, and if your father is a Steve McQueen fan, then he will likely appreciate an inspired gift.
In the film Le Mans, McQueen portrays a driver in a 24-hour race. McQueen famously wears a Heuer Monaco Chronograph in the film. After Tag was acquired, Tag Heuer produced a replica Monaco due to the popularity of the watch. Get the watch here.
There aren’t many suits that are admired as much as the three-piece McQueen wears in “The Thomas Crown Affair.” The grey-checked suit would be difficult to pull off by anyone other than McQueen. And no look is complete without a vintage tie pin, which you can find here.
