How to Clean Fine Jewelry at Home

You’ve spent thousands of dollars on your fine designer jewelry. This is an investment, and one that is only worth it if your jewelry looks fabulous. TYou would hate for your collection to look old, dingy, and dirty. What you need is to clean it occasionally. While you can opt for professional cleaning services, there’s also several things you can do yourself at home.

Keeping diamonds, fine metals, and precious gemstones in top notch condition through effective home jewelry cleaning is essential. Here’s how to do it:

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver can oxidize over time, especially if it isn’t worn often. There are commercial cleaners made especially for silver. If you don’t have soap made for sterling silver and you’re in a rush, mild soap and water can clean your jewelry. If you notice tarnish is forming, allow the water to bead up, then pat your piece dry with a soft cloth.

Gold and Platinum

There are many different commercial gold cleaners that are able to return the gleam to your favorite pieces, but keep in mind that rubbing with a soft chamois cloth works just as well and can be much quicker if you’re in a rush. You can also use an ammonia and water solution to

or platinum jewelry with a soft bristle brush. Be sure to rinse in lukewarm water and let the piece dry before you wear it. A quick dip in rubbing alcohol does wonders as well.

Diamonds

The best method is simply mixing a drop of mild dish detergent in warm water. Let the jewelry soak in the water for a few minutes. Then, use a new, soft-bristled toothbrush to gently brush away the debris. Once the diamond is cleaned, rinse it off by soaking it in another bowl of lukewarm water. You can then dry it gently with a paper towel or soft cloth. Be sure to avoid touching your clean diamond with your fingers by handling it by the edges.

Other Gemstones

Most other gemstones, like a ruby ring and sapphire earrings, can be cleaned at home with the same method recommended for cleaning diamonds. Soak your sapphire, ruby, or other piece in a bowl of warm water and dish soap. Brush the stone lightly with a toothbrush, and then rinse and pat it dry with a soft cloth. This will successfully eliminate the dirt, debris, grease, and dust from the various sections of your piece.

Whether you have amassed a collection of designer necklaces, fine jewelry rings, diamond bracelets, high-quality earrings, or a combination of them all, you want your pieces looking clean and polished. These tips will help you do that! The last thing you want is for a truly astounding piece like the Tiffany & Co. Soleste Ring or these Mishara Sahara Link Rose Gold Earrings not looking their best. Take a few minutes of your time today to ensure your jewelry looks nothing short of fabulous. Then, when it’s time to choose jewelry for your next big event, you can do a quick cleaning again. Your piece will look brand new!

What Does Your Jewelry Say About You?

It’s no secret that high-quality designer jewelry is both gorgeous and timeless. A piece of jewelry instantly takes an outfit from nice to stunning. Choosing the right new designer necklace or other piece of jewelry is a bit more complicated than just “What do I think looks pretty?” You want to add accents to your ensemble that give off the right impression. What does your jewelry say about you?

Pearls

There’s something about a

that tells the world you are classic, elegant, and a lover of the finer things in life. This Mikimoto 18k Yellow Gold Cultured Akoya Golden Pearl 34″ Opera Necklace is one of our favorites. If you instead prefer a smaller piece of jewelry, the Heritage Gem Studio Neck Pearls with Silver Clasp White Pearls would be perfect for achieving that old Hollywood glamour you’re looking for! This necklace is made from 45 stunning freshwater pearls. Wow! We also love the classic combination of mixing pearls with diamonds, like you’ll find on this 14k Yellow Gold Diamond And Pearl Ring.

Rubies

When people think of rubies, they think of royalty. Rubies also represent friendship and love. If you have a ruby bracelet, like this Gold Diamond Ruby Bracelet, as your go-to accessory, you will be seen as peaceful and content with life. You are a loyal friend and your love withstands the test of time, just like these beautiful stones. It’s impossible not to feel absolutely radiant wearing this Gold And Ruby Bangle Bracelet or David Gross Platinum Ruby Ring

Sapphires

The deep and alluring blue of the sapphire gemstone embodies a strong mental clarity. People who choose sapphires are perceived to be honest, trustworthy, and very perceptive. A sapphire says you know who you are in the world, and you’re proud of it. These Gold Diamond Sapphire Hoop Earrings are truly some of our favorites. For just a touch of blue, this Invisible Set Sapphire Gold Ring is the perfect accessory.

Diamonds

You simply cannot go wrong outfitting yourself in diamonds. A diamond is one of the most iconic and sought after gemstones on the market, and for good reason. A diamond symbolizes longevity, like in a relationship. They also symbolize perseverance and an enduring mindset,  never giving up or giving in. People who choose diamonds do so because they are timeless, classy, and never out of style. You’re sure to turn heads when you enter the room wearing the Asscher Diamond Eternity Band or Tiffany & Co. Seven Stone Diamond Platinum Ring. If you love diamonds (and who doesn’t?) your options are nearly endless!

What you wear, especially your jewelry, says a lot about you! What do you want your jewelry to say? We hope this quick guide helps you to build an outfit you will look and feel your best in! After all, when you feel great about yourself, it shines through in your confidence and others will think you look fabulous as well!

How to Tell if You Have a Real Diamond

When it comes to buying a diamond, quality is essential- not a luxury! That is why you need to be absolutely sure you’re buying a real diamond. This is not only possible to do even if you’re shopping online for luxury jewelry, but easy. Try one, two, or all of these ideas:

#1 Check Setting and Mount

Most often, you buy jewelry that already has the diamond or diamonds set in place, not loose diamonds. If a diamond is already placed in a ring, look at the type of setting and mount that’s used. Because of the cost of a diamond, a real diamond will only be set in high quality jewelry. A real diamond will be set in a material like white gold, platinum, or yellow gold. You can also look inside the diamond ring for marking in the center. These small letters will tell you everything you need to know! As an example, the notes 10K, 14K, and 18K indicate the type of gold used. The markings PT and Plat refer to Platinum. If you see a number such as 585, 770, 900, and 950, those are markings indicating platinum or gold as well. On the other hand, if you see a “C.Z.” stamp or engraving, the gemstone is a cubic zirconia, and not a real diamond.

#2 Try a UV Light Test

Another way to test a diamond is to place it under a UV light and watch the reaction. Most diamonds will emit a blue colored glow, but not all of them. Some diamonds do not glow under UV light. For this reason, if the stone does not glow, the results don’t necessarily indicate that it’s a fake diamond. Don’t worry yet! This test is not definitive, so it’s best to have a diamond expert or professional jeweler use their advanced equipment to test the stone if yours does not emit a blue colored glow.

#3 Do the Sparkle Test

The sparkle test doesn’t require any equipment. You simply hold the diamond ring under a normal lamp and watch how light reflects off of the stone. Do you see bright shimmers of white light and colorful light reflections bouncing off the diamond? A real diamond reflects both white light and fiery colors extremely well, providing those exceptional sparkles they’re so well known for. Cubic Zirconia, on the other hand, has a drastically different look in the light. Cubic Zirconia gives off much more colored lights, called the “rainbow effect.” This is because Cubic Zirconia has a lower refractive index and higher dispersion rate than real diamonds.

4 Things to Know Before Buying Luxury Jewelry Online

Chances are good that you do a majority of your shopping online now. You already bought a few things over the internet before the Coronavirus Pandemic, and now you’re used to buying everything from groceries to new release movies online too! What about luxury jewelry, though? Have you considered buying new jewelry over the internet as well? If so, you probably have quite a few questions and concerns. We’re here to answer it all!

Here are our four pieces of expert advice when shopping online for luxury jewelry:

Tip #1 Buy with confidence

More than likely, what you are most concerned with when shopping online is being scammed or ripped off. We understand this! When you shop with TrueFacet, you never have to question the authenticity. That’s because we have an Authenticity Promise! We understand that the decision to purchase online can feel risky. You need to have comfort that you are getting fair value for your money. TrueFacet therefore promises that if you are not fully satisfied with the authenticity of your purchase, we will help you and work with the seller of the item to accept a return of the item and refund your money back.

Tip #2 Look for the warranty

A warranty means your seller stands behind their product. It means if something is wrong with the item, you’re aren’t out of luck and out of money. As a simple example, we offer a two year warranty on “Never Worn” watches and one year on “Pre-Owned” watches. With a warranty like this, you can feel confident clicking on the “Add to Cart” button.

Tip #3 Don’t forget about security

When shopping for luxury items online, you need security both as you are making the actual purchase as well as when the item is being shipped to you. The last thing you want is for your credit card information to be stolen or for the package to be robbed on its route to you. All TrueFacet transactions are secure and confidential. Once you decide to buy it, your package is insured and protected for delivery.

Tip #4 Be sure to look at the size

One huge difference between buying online and shopping in person is that you may not realize the size of the item. This applies in two ways. Rings come in sizes according to the finger. If you find a ring you love and don’t realize it’s far too small, you’ll be disappointed and never able to wear it. If it’s too large, you could lose it when it slips right off! What about other items, like earrings? For these jewelry items, you’ll want to know the literal size of the item. Are the hoops small or quite large? Don’t assume you can guess from the image. Read the description!

How to Choose Earrings for Your Face Shape

Earrings are a great way to make a statement and draw attention to your facial features. To make sure you pick the right pair of earrings, you must consider your face shape before making any purchases. Here is a guide to help you find the best earrings for your face shape.

Round Face Shape

People with a circular face shape have few sharp lines or angles on their chin and cheeks. Round cheeks give your face a wide, circular shape. So, what shape of earrings are best for a round face?

For example, long dangly earrings will draw attention away from the width of the cheeks towards the length of the face instead. You can also try hoop or drop earrings, as they add height and length. Avoid studs or hoops that are too small, as these can make your face look wider than it is.

Oval Face Shape

An oval face shape is rounded but slightly longer than a round face shape. If you have an oval face, you have great cheekbones. Thanks to these high cheekbones, you can wear any type of earrings! Hoops, studs, or triangle-shaped are some of the best earrings for an oval face.

But if you want some extra oomph in style, opt for chandelier or drop-style earrings, as these will add length and bring out your cheekbones. As far as studs go, larger sizes are more flattering than smaller sizes for this particular face shape.

Triangle Face Shape

An inverted triangle face has a wider forehead than the chin and is often quite angular. Triangle-shaped faces should opt for hoops or teardrop-style earrings that balance their jawline and forehead area by drawing attention away from their chin area upwards towards their eyes and forehead region.

Studs are also great for triangle-shaped faces, but avoid overly large hoops, which can make the chin appear even wider than it is.

Diamond Face Shape

Diamond faces are characterized by the eyes being the widest part of the face.

These types of faces should look for chandeliers or dangle earrings that draw attention away from their pointed chin area up towards their eyes and forehead region to create a balance between the two areas of their faces. Avoid small studs or hoops, making diamond-faced individuals look too angular and harsh around their jawline area.

Square Face Shape

A square face is symmetrical all-around but has a boxier shape rather than circular. Square-faced individuals should opt for rounder styles, such as hoop or drop earrings, to soften the sharp edges around their jawline while emphasizing their overall facial structure with added volume around the ears.

Smaller studs may be okay too, depending on personal preference but stay clear of large hoppy styles, which can overpower square-faced individuals’ overall appearance.

Heart Face Shape

A heart-shaped face is characterized by the fact that as you move down, your face gradually narrows. Because of the contrast between a wider forehead and a smaller chin, the perfect earrings for heart-shaped faces are those with dangly styles such as teardrop shapes. These earrings add more volume around the chin area while still bringing out attractive facial features like high cheekbones with their dangling effect near them when worn correctly.

Smaller studs aren’t recommended because they can emphasize heart-shaped faces’ thinness near the chin region–instead, opt for rounder shapes like the drops mentioned earlier!

Luxury Jewelry Guide for Working from Home

Many companies are deciding working from home is not going to be a short term situation. If you’re looking at working from home for the foreseeable future it’s time to think of this as your regular life, not something special and new. Who says working from home means all pajamas and messy hair? Not us! In fact, we think working from home is the best time to take a few minutes to update your luxury jewelry collection

We don’t want you to compromise your fashion sense or professionalism because you’re working from home. Below, we’ve broken down our favorite ways to update your jewelry collection. Be sure to put this expert advice to the best use so that you can add some sparkles and pizazz to your work from home style!

Statement Earrings

When you’re on video conferencing calls, everyone can see your face- first and foremost. With just your face at the center of the computer screen, it can be difficult to feel as though it is worth it to put in any effort into your outfit and appearance. Earrings are a simple but effective way to ensure that your fashion choices get noticed online. Add some flare to your work-from-home look with a pair of gorgeous Platinum and Diamond Tiffany & Co. Legacy Drop Earrings or a pair of classic David Yurman Diamond Pearl Sterling Silver Cable Round Stud Earrings.

Bold Necklaces

Next on our list is your neck! If you back up from the screen enough, your neck and top of your chest is clearly visible, which makes a luxury necklace a wonderful addition to your ensemble. Although we have dozens of fabulous options, the Gucci Icon Twirl Necklace 18K White Gold With Diamonds is one of our favorites. If you want to really wow during your presentation, we recommend a bold style like the Vintage Judith Ripka Diamond Saltwater Pearls 18k White Gold Choker Necklace

Dainty Rings

If you speak and gesture with your hands, you have the perfect opportunity to show off a new luxury brand name ring or two. You simply cannot go wrong with the Authentic Cartier Trinity Ring or Authentic Tiffany & Co. Milgrain Band Ring in Yellow Gold and Platinum. If you’re looking for a little more bling, consider the .90ct Sapphire Diamond Cluster Platinum Cocktail Ring. This white gold and platinum ring features a pear shaped sapphire set center stage with a heart shaped bezel surrounding the sapphire with tapered baguette diamonds. It finishes with an outer heart shape of prong set round brilliant cut diamonds. Your audience or team members are sure to take notice of that massive sapphire waving around on your finger!

TrueFacet promises authenticity of our products, so you can shop with confidence. We’re sure that when you shop our online jewelry collection, you’ll find something you’re excited to add to your jewelry collection. On your next Zoom call, you’ll look fabulous!

6 watches worn by the world’s best sports stars

Sports aren’t generally associated with watches. But for some reason, world-class athletes have been rocking extravagant timepieces on the field. It seems to be a tool of the trade at this point – sturdy, heavy watches that can withstand anything from golf to contact-heavy sports.

We love sports stars and the watches they wear. Here are 6 watches worn by the world’s top sports stars.

David Beckham – TUDOR Black Bay Chrono

Soccer’s favorite heartthrob always wears a killer smile and his trusty TUDOR Black Bay Chrono in steel, or his 43mm Black Bay Bronze. The Black Bay Chrono, with contrasting sub-counters, is versatile and manly and encapsulates confidence and style without being too loud. Sticking to TUDOR classics, the global style icon is often seen wearing these sports-chic timepieces as he goes about his philanthropic activities or celebrity appearances. They say a watch makes a man, so if you want to bend it like Beckham, check out the Tudor Black Bay Chrono.

Tiger Woods – Rolex Deepsea

One of golf’s biggest names, Tiger Woods, is accompanied by a Rolex Deepsea on the driving range and off on other adventures. Other than playing golf, the Rolex ambassador spends his time being a father and taking part in his favorite pastime – diving. The Deepsea makes for a sturdy and reliable companion to take along in or out of the water and has been “part of wins, losses, and adventures,” according to Woods. Whether you’re a fan of golf, Tiger Woods is a household name with impeccable style. The Rolex Deepsea is available on Truefacet.

Conor Mcgregor – Jacob & Co Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette

The MMA fighter made headlines when he dropped a million dollars on a watch from Manhattan-based Jacob & Co. The gold watch is covered by a spherical diamond that “reflects every ray of incoming light, illuminating the night sky throughout its 60-second rotation around an independent axis”, as described by the jewelry and wristwatch maker. The Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette is truly a sight to behold and comes with a hefty price tag that can only be justified if you’re a world-famous MMA star. Jacob & Co has a few timepieces that are equally as stunning and comes with a price tag that makes a little more sense. This whimsical Jacob & Co Five Time Zone JC-9 is total arm candy while the sensible Jacob & Co Palatial is a great starter watch.

Odell Beckham Jr – Richard Mille 11-03

Odell Beckham Jr’s Richard Mille 11-03 is a watch designed for Formula 1 racing, but that didn’t stop him from taking the spotlight with this extravagant timepiece in the 2019 game against the Tennessee Titans. This caused a bit of a stir among spectators and the NFL, who pointed out that there was a rule against wearing hard objects on the field. This didn’t faze the world-class athlete though. OBJ pointed out that he wore his RM 11 everywhere, even in the shower, and he wasn’t planning to stop. Ironically, this ‘hard object’ probably cushioned some of the blow from the loss to the Tennessee Titans, but who could resist talking about the bright orange beauty? On another note, the Richard Mille RM 011 is definitely a head turner and a great investment piece for collectors, minus the controversy.

Serena Williams – Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore

Former World No.1 tennis player, and arguably the greatest player of all time, Serena Williams is a connoisseur, and she knows it. The sports star rocked a blitzed-out Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore for the better part of 2019. This shiny companion was there on the court and saw Williams through her countless victories. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore is available without the bling, or if you want to emulate Williams, with a diamond-encrusted bezel. Because it’s going big, or go home.

Cristiano Ronaldo – Rolex Daytona

The Portuguese football player is known for over 700 goals in his career and his lavish lifestyle. Of course, he wouldn’t be complete without the right watch, or watches. Among his luxurious collection is an 18k yellow gold Rolex Daytona with, get this, diamond hour markers. The Rolex Daytona is one of the brand’s more popular models and is a pretty sight on the wrist. Most of them do great in the resale market too, like most Rolex timepieces. So if you’re looking for a good investment, why not look for one that makes you feel like a football star?

Throughout the years, sports stars have worn carefully chosen eye-catching wristwatches to accompany them through victories, and some losses. If you want to see more, TrueFacet has a collection of models worn by athletes, and more.
