Statement necklaces have been trending for a few years now, however, this season there are two variations on this style. This year, we’ve seen the classic statement necklace turn to different and exciting variations of silver. The accessory dresses up a casual style like jeans and T-shirt. Dressing formally? That’s also a perfect time to add a statement to your look. Versatile and universal, the statement necklace is here to stay, but consider a monochrome accent to stay on trend.
2. Bold Chains
The second style of the statement necklace finds itself in the form of a bold chain. We saw the bold chains in Spring/Summer 2015 runway shows from Stella McCartney and Moschino. Not all runway trends make it to the street, but this one has for the summer season. Like the silver statement necklace, the chainlink necklace is versatile in many colors, sizes and lengths. You can wear a bold chain for any occasion to stand out.
3. Classic Watches
It’s in the title — something classic doesn’t go out of fashion, at least not for long. The key to wearing a beautiful watch is in its simplicity. Now, a simple and classic watch, perhaps coupled with a bracelet or two at most, is on trend for a refined and professional look. If you invest in a pre-owned luxury watch, not only is its fashionability eternal, but you can resell it later, perhaps for more than you spent originally.
4. Stacked Bracelets
This is another style to make it off the runway. From bangles to charms to cuffs, there’s not a bracelet style that can resist this trend. Chanel did it with slogans in the Spring/Summer 2015 show. Dior did too with simple silver hoops. And we can’t forget the monochrome look from Bottega Veneta. The easy-yet-ornate nature of this look has allowed the stacked look to dominate street style this season.
5. Statement Earrings
If statement necklaces aren’t for you, you can still make an impression with oversized statement earrings. This year, crystal baubles and ornate costume earrings have dominated the street scene and everyday fashion. We can’t help but think of vintage and glam Chanel earrings. You can dress up a casual look or add interest to professional garb with statement earrings.
