2015 in Review: Best Sellers of the Year

Since 2015 is coming to a close, we reviewed the best-selling pieces of the year. The favorites are clear choices, and these timeless pieces will definitely remain on trend into the new year — the Love bracelet has been trending since the ’60s! Check out our favorites below for inspiration for your next purchase.

Men’s Watches:

The most popular men’s watches were also smart buys. These watches, many vintage, are ones that can remain part of your wardrobe for years while increasing in value over time. Rolex watches were the best-selling watch brand, and one of the most popular brands sitewide. Rolex watches also retain their value better than nearly any other watch brand.

Many of the Rolex styles have hardly been changed significantly for decades. This, combined with the quality of craftsmanship, makes a Rolex watch a long-lasting and ever-fashionable watch choice. The most popular models were the Datejust, Milgauss, Submariner, GMT-Master II and Day-Date.

Sports watches were also the watch of choice in 2015. From Omega we saw the Seamaster, Speedmasteer and Flightmaster as top choices. Omega watches were also one of the most popular choices in the vintage watch category. Vintage TAG Heuer watches were also a favorite, including the Aquaracer and Carrera.

Finally, towards the end of 2015, we saw an increase in the popular Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore. This massive sports watch has had its distinct style since the early ’70s and it’s still increasing in popularity today.

Women’s Watches:

Women’s watches trended towards the more fashionable pieces in 2015. Looks that reflect the most recent trends were the style of choice for ladies, but there were still certain classic timepieces that stood up to the test of time. Cartier watches were the most classic choices and the most preferred were the Tank and Ballon Bleu styles.

The trendiest watch designer of the year was Michael Kors. As of late, his watches have been the must-have watch for women. His most popular styles include Bradshaw, Camille and Darci. Michele watches fall between Cartier and Michael Kors in price and style and the watch brand has been trending upwards since the start of 2015. The best-selling models are the classic Deco Diamond and the Urban Mini.

Jewelry:

If we could name 2015 anything else, we would call it “The Year of the Cartier Love Bracelet.” The iconic accessory was, without question, our best-selling item sitewide, especially in yellow gold. The entire Love collection was overall very successful this year. Love and trinity rings and the nail bracelet were all top sellers. Another Cartier staple deserving of an honorable mention is the panthere motif. Also from the French, Van Cleef & Arpels was also a fine jewelry favorite. Most popular: Alhambra bracelets and pendant necklaces in the clover motif.

Not far behind Cartier was Tiffany & Co. Favorites included the classic “Return to Tiffany” heart tag necklaces and bracelets and the Elsa Peretti Open Heart necklace. Another popular American desinger was David Yurman. Cable bracelets, Albion necklaces and Chatelaine earrings were the favorites of the year.

Finally, always a favorite, costume jewelry from chic designers was on trend. From Chanel, we saw massive logo earrings follow the statement earrings trends. The CC necklaces are always a jewelry-lover favorite. Brooches also made a comeback this year, and Chanel was the designer of choice for trying the trend. Finally, faux and bold pearls were a must-have and they took the form of drop earrings and multi-strand necklaces. Hermes also deserves a mention for their enamel bangles and clic clac bracelets.
