Misahara Takes the Stage
Lepa Galeb-Roskopp, the designer behind Misahara has been nominated for the prestigious Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Awards’ 2018 competition.
The Fashion Group International is a global, non-profit organization with 5000 members in the fashion industry. Each year the FGI selects individuals from a variety of categories, including Fine Jewelry, Fashion, and Home/Interior Design who they believe have demonstrated extraordinary vision and creativity to be honored. This year’s awards luncheon will be hosted by iconic menswear designer John Varvatos at the famed Cipriani restaurant in New York and is sponsored by Hearst and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Misahara has been singled out no doubt due to the uniquely striking and finely crafted nature of its designs. Lepa has largely been inspired by her experiences travelling the world and the regional and traditional ensembles she observed along the way. In a deliberate break from conventional jewelry styles, she has created a fresh look that folds these international influences into her inherent sense of style—pieces imbued with a kind of globetrotting glamour.
Today, the Misahara collection is a beautiful reflection of Lepa’s childhood and adventurous spirit. The bold designs, elaborate motifs and the colorful gemstones of Misahara pieces are also deeply informed by the beauty of nature. From the blue lapis of the Adriatic Collection to the serpentine texture of the Sahara Collection, the inspiration source is vividly pulled through each piece to give it a shocking amount of depth.
